Foliar symptoms
- Patches showing slight damage and inhibited growth
- Heavy infestation can result in very poor emergence or plant death
- Free-living nematodes are vectors of tobacco rattle virus
Root symptoms
- Elongated brown spots of dead cells resulting in curved roots and stolons
- Bushy root system due to production of new lateral roots

- Extensive list of host plants
- Vector of tobacco rattle virus (TRV) and associated spraing in tubers
