Symptoms
- The underground parts of the stem or the stem just above the soil surface shows feeding damage
Pest description
- Cutworms: Grey larvae which roll up in a C-shape
- Cockchafer grubs (larvae of Scarabaeidae): Larvae with brown head, white-yellow body with three pairs of legs and white-yellow to a blue abdomen that expands towards the end
- Leatherjackets: Long grey larvae with no legs
