Symptoms: Primary infection
- Symptoms visible at the top of the plant
- Leaves turn inward, becoming light yellow, sometimes with a red border
Symptoms: Secondary infection
- Symptoms visible throughout the whole plant
- Leaves turn inward, becoming light yellow, sometimes with a red border (particularly the older leaves)
- Young leaves are usually light yellow at the top of the plant
- Thicker, harder and cracking leaves
Infection and spread
- Mainly from the peach-potato aphid (Myzus persicae)
- A persistent virus
Possible confusion with
- Top roll (generally more widespread throughout a field)
- M-virus (PVM)
